What is 2FA?

Basics

2FA

A security method that adds a second means of authentication beyond the password. Even if the password leaks, one more layer remains. Text-message codes are vulnerable to attacks that take over the phone number itself, so authenticator apps or security keys are safer, and recovery codes should be stored separately.
