Updates
Most recent update: 2026-10-31.
4 notices about revisions to legal documents (the privacy policy) are available only in the original Korean.
- Improved
US options screen keeps working when one data source is blocked
On the options screen for US stocks (open interest and put/call ratio by expiry), if the usual data source does not respond, the screen continues with another provider that supplies delayed quotes. If neither responds, it says the data could not be fetched instead of inventing numbers. The quotes are delayed, not real-time.
- Improved
Indicator and level lines are clearer in light mode
In light mode, the chart's indicator lines, support/resistance level lines and position markers that blended into the background now use darker colors. Dark mode colors are unchanged.
- Improved
Tab lists can be moved with the keyboard arrow keys
You can now move between tabs (the rows that select a range, timeframe or category) with the left and right arrow keys. Mouse and touch behave as before.
- Improved
Top search and on-page search are now one input
The stock search at the top of the page and the one inside the screen are now a single input. Whichever one you used before, you find the same stocks in one place.
- Improved
More of the market is visible on the mobile home screen
On phones, the home screen now shows more of the current-market cards in the first view because the top spacing was reduced, and the long lists further down show only the first few items with the rest folded. Tap a folded section to see everything.
- New feature
Coinbase premium screen is now open
Shows how far Coinbase's dollar price is from the USDT prices on OKX and Bitget, for BTC and ETH. Dollar and USDT are compared as they are, without conversion, and if the data cannot be fetched the screen says so instead of inventing a number. It is a reference for price gaps, not a basis for investment decisions.
- New feature
Update notes are available as an RSS feed
You can follow update notes in an RSS reader. The address is /feed.xml and it carries the same public notes shown on this screen.
- Improved
Extended the English version to every page
Cleaned up places where Korean was mixed into English screens: chart line names, symbol-page tabs, recently viewed symbols and date formats. Screens whose body text is not yet translated (courses, lessons, glossary, update notes) keep an English frame and state that the body is Korean only.
- Improved
Korean stock prices are shown with the won sign in English
On English screens, Korean stock prices are written as ₩82,600 and large amounts such as trading value and market cap use English units. Visitors from abroad see the status of free sign-up and overseas payment on the pricing screen.
- Bug fixes
Fixed the sign-up path that broke inside in-app browsers
In in-app browsers such as KakaoTalk, Kakao login is now placed first; on Android, Google login is handed off to Chrome so it continues straight through. On iPhone, the screen explains how to open in Safari and copy the address. When an email link opens in a different browser and sign-up breaks, the guidance now describes a path that actually works, and if you request another email within a minute the screen tells you first.
- Bug fixes
The Nasdaq 100 index can now be found in symbol search
Searching “Nasdaq” used to return only futures and the composite index. The spot Nasdaq 100 index now appears as well.
- Bug fixes
Unified symbol screen addresses
A stock opened with a crypto address now moves straight to the stock screen, and crypto screen addresses use a single lowercase form. Korean stock prices that showed in dollars in search results are also fixed.
- New feature
Telegram alerts now carry a preview of the matching web screen
A MarketSurfer screen link inside an alert is shown as a preview card, so you can see which screen it opens before tapping. When you share a web screen, the title and description of that screen appear instead of the home intro.
- Improved
Exchange event posts now state the reward, period and how to join
Exchange event posts now include a Korean summary of what the event is, plus the reward, the period and the steps to join. Rewards and dates carry only the numbers in the exchange's own announcement, with a link to the original.
- New feature
Alerts can be sent to your own runner to place orders per a plan you wrote in advance
The fact that an alert fired (a saved screener condition, a support/resistance touch, a trend reversal) can be sent to a runner on your own computer or server, or to a webhook address, and TradingView alerts can be gathered into the same runner. What to buy or sell and how much is read only from the plan you wrote beforehand, and exchange keys never pass through MarketSurfer servers. It opens for referral accounts verified by exchange UID; the steps are in “Connecting alerts to trading” in the usage guide.
- New feature
Daily expected ranges for Bitcoin and Ethereum are now posted in the paid channel
Every day at 09:30 KST, the expected price range for the next day of Bitcoin and Ethereum is published in the paid channel. Before release we recorded internally how often the range contained the actual price until the sample was large enough, and publishing stops by itself if the sample falls short of the standard.
- Improved
The liquidation map is open to everyone for every coin
The liquidation maps for Ethereum and altcoins are now open regardless of plan. Layers on top, such as large-wallet entry prices and the stop-order map, still open according to your plan as before.
- Improved
The chart's “other bars too” buttons now stay on for your next visit
Fixed the two buttons that overlay support/resistance and indicators from other bars, which turned off every time the screen loaded. Once you switch them on, they stay on at your next visit.
- Bug fixes
Web screens open as soon as you join the paid group
People who linked the web first and joined the paid group later had to wait up to an hour for web screens to open. Your plan is now applied the moment you join the group.
- Improved
The bot help now lists every command you can use
26 member commands that were missing from the menu are now in the help and the command menu, and six commands that had only English names now have Korean names. The help also tells you that on the Lite plan, support/resistance reach alerts do not arrive when your watchlist is empty.
- Improved
Rewrote liquidation-surge alerts to carry facts only
Alerts for symbols with heavy liquidations no longer include wording that urges action or hints at direction; they state only the symbol, the 15-minute liquidation total, the long/short share and the reference time. Even on busy days they do not exceed 3 per hour and 8 per day.
- Improved
Paid lessons now show what you will learn in search results
Search results used to show only “For paid subscribers”; they now show the one-line learning goal of the course that contains the lesson. Lessons not yet placed in a course keep the previous wording.
- Improved
The first line now says what MarketSurfer is in one sentence
The site description sent to search results and share cards, and the top of the Start screen, now say in one sentence “a place to see on one screen where the current price sits on the chart” instead of listing features.
- Improved
Split the Telegram group boards by topic
The paid group's bot board is divided into twelve topics, including market overview, macro, whale positions, money flow, education and notices, and the free group board is split by web menu so you can pick only the posts you need. Boards the bot posts to carry (bot) at the end of the name. The free channel keeps only the free-group guide post and the rest go to the group.
- New feature
The free group now gets regular posts on gainers/losers and trading value, exchange rates and market-cap rankings
A daily gainers/losers and trading-value board was created in the free group, with exchange rates summarized daily and market-cap rankings weekly. Web screen intro posts also went up to twice a day.
- New feature
Added usage videos to the guide and Start screens
Only usage videos available on YouTube appear on the screen, and a player opens when you tap. The videos have Korean narration, so they are not shown on English screens.
- Improved
Nasdaq futures prices reach the web faster
Index prices used to be refreshed together with other symbols and changed late; Nasdaq futures are now fetched separately every minute and reflected on the web.
- Bug fixes
Fixed cards staying lifted after a tap on phones
The hover effect also triggered on touch screens, leaving a tapped card in a raised state; that is gone. Also, when adding a new symbol to your watchlist while a different tab was open, it could be added to the wrong market; this is now corrected when the symbol's form makes the market clear.
- New feature
Introducing one web screen at a time in the free and paid groups
Some screens were never introduced anywhere in the groups, so one web menu screen is now introduced daily in the free group and weekly in the paid group. Screens whose range differs by plan say so.
- Bug fixes
Fixed numbers appearing instead of symbol names in paid group bundled messages
Fixed an error where market-cap rank numbers appeared instead of symbol names in lists of symbols with overlapping signals. Nasdaq and KOSPI sector reports now link to the web sector screen.
- Bug fixes
Home card support/resistance names now match what MarketSurfer calculated
The home quote card used to relabel support/resistance by looking only at whether a level sat above or below the current price. It now shows what MarketSurfer calculated at bar close: support as support and resistance as resistance, and when the price has just crossed a line, the + or − sign before the distance tells you so. Lines are recalculated when the bar closes.
- Bug fixes
Fixed free group welcome messages being posted to the paid group
Fixed an error where the welcome message for someone newly joining the free group was posted to the paid group. The welcome now goes only to the free group that was joined.
- Improved
Made the order book heatmap sharper and easier to operate
Heatmap blur is off by default so cell edges are crisp; you can turn it back on with the “Blur” button. On a computer, dragging with the right button held zooms price and time together. How many dollars one row spans is shown large next to “Row size”.
- New feature
Hovering over a heatmap cell shows the volume at that spot
It shows the buy and sell amounts for the price level and time under the cursor and, in the right-hand column, the volume currently resting. The values are restored from data the server stores compressed, so amounts are prefixed with “about”. You can also adjust the color range with “Share to paint bright” and “Hide faint cells” in the detailed settings.
- New feature
Overlay MarketSurfer support/resistance on the order book heatmap
You can see on one screen whether large orders sit at levels that matter on the chart. 4-hour and 12-hour bar support/resistance is open to everyone, daily and above to subscribers. Lines outside the visible range are counted above and below.
- New feature
Added Bitfinex margin long/short volume below the symbol chart
Turn on “Bitfinex margin long” and “margin short” in the indicator list of the Bitcoin and Ethereum charts and they are drawn in the lower panel in one-hour steps. Long and short differ greatly in size, so they use separate panels.
- New feature
Zooming into the order book heatmap shows footprint numbers
When you zoom far enough in price and time, each bar shows market-sell (left) and market-buy (right) amounts per price cell. At normal zoom they are hidden so they do not cover the picture, and 30-minute and 1-hour bars are supported.
- New feature
Added a detailed open interest panel to the derivatives screen
For each symbol it shows the current contract amount, the 1-hour, 4-hour and 24-hour changes and the 24-hour trend (green when increasing, red when decreasing), with a one-line read next to the same 24-hour price change. It distinguishes whether price and contracts rose together or price moved while contracts fell.
- Improved
Symbol chart support/resistance lines are now bolder in order of importance
Support/resistance 1 and the baseline are drawn solid and thick, level 2 dashed and level 3 dotted. Previously all were the same thin dotted line, so differences in weight were invisible. Buy/sell wall lines are thinner than support/resistance lines, and labels are no longer clipped by the price axis. The open interest panel is also colored green when rising and red when falling.
- Improved
Redrew 110 diagrams for the regular courses
Replaced 110 concept diagrams across the beginner, practice and advanced courses with new ones. Each was checked against the lesson text and the numbers in the picture before being connected, and 10 that did not match the text will be redrawn and swapped in. The diagrams are concept illustrations, not real market prices.
- Improved
Altcoins show up again on the order book heatmap
Fixed altcoins disappearing from the order book heatmap shortly after being turned on. The measure of server load was counting baseline processing unrelated to altcoins as altcoin load.
- New feature
You can now receive new news headlines one line at a time
When a new Korean article headline appears, it is sent quietly to the paid group chat as one line per article with a link to the original. There is a cap on how many go out per hour. Headlines are reproduced as published by the press and are not MarketSurfer's opinion.
- Improved
Watchlist alerts now include targets 1–3
Watchlist proximity alerts now list targets 1–3 on a single bar and the support/resistance positions, and mark whether the current price is above or below each level. The color coding by support/resistance level was restored in the Korean and US stock summaries.
- Bug fixes
Personal price alerts go only to the person who set them
Closed a path through which a price alert you registered could go to a group chat; it is now sent only to your own private message.
- Bug fixes
The morning personal briefing now lists every bar your plan includes
Paid members' morning personal briefings used to list only the 4-hour and 12-hour bars; they now list all six bars open to your plan. Also fixed lines vanishing entirely from the US index briefing chart and empty values in the pre-market Nasdaq briefing.
- New feature
Added QQQ and SPY to US symbols
Products that track the Nasdaq 100 and the S&P 500 were added to the US symbol list, web symbol search and quote screens.
- New feature
Opened the order book heatmap screen
A screen that shows over time how orders resting at an exchange build up and disappear by price level. It marks groups of orders that repeatedly rest at the same size, and lets you compare two exchanges' order books side by side. It is available from the Lite plan.
- Bug fixes
Separated how fresh market data is from when it was delivered
Time-bar data used by symbol screens now carries which bar time it contains as well as when it was delivered. Previously there was only the delivery time, so data could look just received even after it had stopped. 4-hour and 12-hour bars are built from smaller bars, so they are also prevented from showing a time newer than their source.
- Bug fixes
Unified the basis for the current price on symbol screens
Within one screen, the header, the change summary and the quote card each showed the current price on a different basis; they now match. This reduces mismatches where a symbol without a quote showed a value in one place and was blank in another. We are still checking cases where the support/resistance table on the same screen appears as not yet compiled.
- Bug fixes
KOSPI index volume-surge alerts now go to the KOSPI room
Fixed alerts for a large volume increase in the KOSPI index being sent to the Nasdaq room. Dow index alerts also found their place. Individual stock alerts are unchanged.
- How to use
You can choose which alerts you receive
In Account > Alert subscriptions you can turn each content type on or off and set quiet hours at night. It opens once Telegram is linked.
- Improved
Support/resistance lines come up faster after the bot restarts
Previously values reached the screen only after every symbol was loaded, so old values showed for a while after a restart. Now what is ready goes up first, and values that arrive late are caught up to the end.
- Bug fixes
Fixed the “refreshed every 30 seconds” wording being read as covering support/resistance
What changes every 30 seconds is the price; support/resistance is recalculated when the bar closes. The screen now tells the two apart.
- Bug fixes
Fixed the same symbol appearing on two lines in the watchlist
The problem occurred when the same symbol was added in a different spelling and appeared twice in the list. They are now merged into one line.
- Improved
Stock symbol screens also have the chart above the table
Matched to the same order as crypto screens: opening a symbol shows the chart first, with the per-bar table below it.
- New feature
US stock screens show pre-market and after-hours trades
Outside regular hours (pre-market 04:00–09:30, after-hours 16:00–20:00 New York time), the last traded price and the change versus the regular-session close appear on the symbol screen. Overnight (20:00–04:00) trades are not provided by the data source, so the last after-hours value stays with its time. The extended-hours field disappears when the regular session opens.
- Improved
The Premium entrance moved to the top of the home screen
When a Premium member logs in, a shortcut to their screens appears at the top of the first home screen; it used to need scrolling down. The home screen for non-Premium visitors is unchanged.
- New feature
Added 1-minute, 5-minute, 15-minute and 1-hour candles to crypto charts
On the symbol chart you can see the range below the 4-hour bar as candles. Support/resistance is not calculated for this range, so only candles are shown and no lines are drawn. Stock charts start from the 4-hour bar.
- Improved
You can also choose which bars to hide in the combined chart view
A bar you turn off in the level table is also dropped from the combined chart view, and turning it off in the chart is reflected in the table. Your choice is stored only in the browser you are using.
- Bug fixes
Fixed the gold (XAUT) symbol screen not opening
Opening gold from symbol search used to show “page not found”; this is fixed. Symbols the bot analyzes open a symbol screen even if they are not in the list.
- New feature
Sharing a symbol screen now sends a card with its current position
When you paste a symbol screen link into a messenger or social media, a preview card appears with the 4-hour and 12-hour bar direction, the distance to nearby support/resistance and the reference time. The trend for daily bars and above is available once you open the page.
- Improved
You get personal alerts when a watchlist symbol reaches a 4-hour or 12-hour level
When a symbol on your watchlist reaches or breaks 4-hour or 12-hour bar support/resistance, we notify you with a personal alert. Previously only daily and above were alert targets.
- New feature
US stocks can also be viewed on our chart
Nasdaq symbol screens now draw the candles and support/resistance we calculate. This spot used to show only an external chart.
- New feature
Shows where liquidation clusters overlap with support/resistance
The liquidation screen shows together the price levels where liquidation volume has piled up and the support/resistance we calculate where they overlap.
- Improved
The first screen shows what is being published right now
The first screen now shows recent publication records. Without signing up you can check which kinds of analysis go out and at what intervals.
- New feature
You can draw lines directly on the chart
On a symbol screen chart you can draw horizontal lines and trend lines yourself. Lines you draw are saved in this browser and remain after a refresh. A trend line extends to the edge of the screen once you place two points.
- New feature
You can turn moving averages on and off on the chart
The 20, 60 and 120 moving averages can each be switched on and off. Your choice is remembered in this browser. No button appears for periods with too few bars.
- Bug fixes
Fixed the symbol picker buttons not responding
Fixed a permission notice appearing when you pressed a symbol button on the support/resistance card.
- Improved
Liquidity structure is calculated on all six bars
Highs and lows and the places where liquidity was taken are calculated on each of six bars from the 4-hour to the monthly bar instead of a single daily bar.
- Bug fixes
Fixed the install guide opening when tapping the app icon
Fixed the install guide screen opening when you launched from the home-screen icon. It now opens straight to home. You do not need to delete the icon and install again.
- New feature
Opened a separate app install guide screen
Opened a screen that explains, browser by browser, how to install as a home-screen app. You can follow the steps even in browsers where the install prompt does not appear automatically.
- New feature
You are notified when the price touches a line you drew
Tap the bell next to a horizontal line you drew and you get a Telegram message when the price reaches it. Your account must be linked.
- Bug fixes
Fixed Korean stocks showing as numeric codes
Fixed Korean stocks appearing as six-digit numbers instead of company names on some screens.
- Improved
Search by symbol name works better
Tuned searching for Korean stocks by their Korean names so they are found more reliably.
- New feature
Gathered exchange events in one place
Events running at partner exchanges are collected on one screen. You can view it before signing up.
- Improved
Derivatives notices now go out bundled
When several come in a row, they are bundled into one message. This reduces the pile-up of alerts that was hard to read.
- Improved
Symbols close to a bar close are summarized on one line
Symbols near their close are summarized on one line each. The same symbol appearing several times is now merged.
- Improved
Improved how fast screens load
Adjusted how data is downloaded to improve how quickly screens load.
- Improved
Recently viewed symbols are saved to your account
They used to stay only on the device you were viewing from, so phone and computer lists differed. When you are logged in, the same list follows you on any device. If you are not logged in, it stays on that device as before.
- New feature
You can share symbol search conditions as a link
When you pick conditions, the address changes with them. Send that address and the recipient sees the same results screen right away. Conditions that need a subscription plan are trimmed to the recipient's plan when opened.
- New feature
Opened the English guide screen
Tap English at the bottom of the screen to switch to the English guide, and tap Korean on the English screen to return. For now it is one guide page and the data screens remain in Korean.
- New feature
Started the member referral program
Copy your referral link on the My Info screen and pass it on; when that person makes their first payment, both of you get more subscription time: 14 days for the referrer and 7 days for the referred.
- Improved
Started showing the data reference time on screens
Screens now say when the value you are seeing was current. If a refresh is long overdue, they tell you that too. When the reference time could not be confirmed, they say so. Applied first to the Fear & Greed, correlation, sector and dominance screens, and we will extend it to the rest.
- Improved
Referral rewards now vary by the plan paid
When someone who came through a referral makes their first payment, the referrer's subscription is extended. It used to be 14 days regardless of plan; it now depends on the plan the person paid: 7 days for Lite, 14 for Standard, 21 for Premium. The 7 days given to the person who came through the referral stay the same.
- Improved
The next earnings date is shown right on the symbol screen
Release dates that used to appear only in the earnings calendar are also shown on the symbol screen. They appear only for symbols whose schedule we hold. It is a schedule and does not imply a price direction.
- New feature
Shows the 52-week position as a number on symbol screens
With the past year's low as 0% and the high as 100%, it shows what percent point the current price is at. Previously only the high and low were shown and you had to calculate it yourself. It says roughly where the price is now and does not mean the price will move either way.
- How to use
Find a symbol — you can search by conditions instead of names
On the Find a symbol screen, set trading value and per-bar direction as conditions and only symbols that match remain. If you save the conditions, we notify you when a symbol meets them. You set the conditions yourself; we do not create them for you or say which condition is better.
- New feature
Opened the US stock options open interest screen
Enter a symbol to see the open interest distribution by expiry and the call/put ratio. You can check it without signing up. It does not mean the value will go that way; it shows where contracts are concentrated now.
- How to use
Explained what you can see for free
Without signing up you can see support/resistance and trend direction on the 4-hour and 12-hour bars. All 13 beginner lessons open with login alone. Daily bars and above open to subscribers.
- Bug fixes
Fixed the My Info screen not opening
Adding the referral code field made the entire member info lookup fail, so the My Info screen showed only an error. The lookup was split so that the rest opens even if one item is missing.
- Improved
Moved lesson diagrams right next to the explanation
Diagrams used to be gathered at the bottom of a lesson, so you saw them only after reading the whole text. Each diagram now sits directly below the section that explains it, so you do not have to scroll up to find which explanation it belongs to.
- Improved
Raised the watched symbols to 300 per market
We now watch the top 300 by market cap for US stocks and KOSPI each; it was 250. Symbols added on request stay regardless of rank. The list is rebuilt on the 1st of each month.
- Bug fixes
Fixed candles looking squashed at the top of the angle structure chart
For symbols with steep slopes, the vertical range stretched to zero, so the candles you actually need to see were drawn in only a small part of the top of the screen. The vertical range is now set from the candles. Line fragments floating in places unrelated to candles also disappeared.
- Improved
Started recording the reason when sign-up and login are blocked
Previously, when login failed the screen showed the same wording and we could not tell what blocked it. Records are now kept step by step, so if the same problem repeats we can check it first.
