A way of keeping the private key offline, disconnected from the internet. It is safe from online breaches, but the trade-off is that not losing the device and managing the recovery phrase carefully become the whole job of protecting the assets. It is inconvenient for immediate trading and is used for long-term storage; keeping the recovery phrase in a photo or in the cloud removes its safety.
