What is False Breakout?

A move that briefly crosses above resistance and then falls back below. Orders placed for a breakout fill and are immediately pushed back, so stops cluster and the move in the opposite direction can become large. The way to tell is to go by the candle close and not count a mere wick above as a breakout.
