What is Risk-Off?

Advanced

Risk-Off

A phase in which anxiety grows and money moves into safe-haven assets. Risk assets that normally move differently fall at the same time, so the benefit of diversification is weakest at exactly the moment it is needed most. Liquidity thins as well, making it hard to close at the desired price.
