Psychology and Mindset ① — FOMO (Fear of Missing Out)

Entry hereThe stop is far belowEntering after a spike collapses the reward-to-risk
Entering after a rise leaves the stop far away

What FOMO really is

• FOMO is the instinct by which 'the pain of being left behind' instantly overrides 'risk calculation'

• A surging chart is a place where the profit-taking sell orders (selling pressure) of those who bought earlier have piled up

What happens when you chase

• A FOMO entry means walking in through the exit others are leaving by

• The feeling that 'if I don't get in at this moment it will be a disaster' is itself a sign it is already late

Where people slip

• A surge feels like an 'opportunity', but it is in fact information that says 'late'

• The market is open 365 days, so opportunities are not scarce — a train that has left is let go

FOMO is not an opportunity but a sense of lateness. A chase that was not in the plan is not made.

Have you recently chased a surge because it felt like an 'opportunity'? Was it really just 'being late'?
