What is MDD (Max Drawdown)?

Statistics

MDD (Max Drawdown)

The largest drop in cumulative performance from a peak to a trough. Short for Max Drawdown. Even with the same final profit, how deep the dip was along the way determines whether the method could actually be followed. People tend to quit at the maximum drawdown, not at the final result, so whether the drawdown is bearable is the practical test of sustainability.
